I will be attending WhiskyFest (again) in SF, and I am a very big Macallan Fan. I will be looking forward to the details on this sampling…. and I hope that it is for a great cause.

Will there be a specific amount one would have to donate in order to participate? Also, does anyone know the charity all the money is going to?

I’d like to go to Whiskyfest. If I do, I’d definitely like to take part in this. Just curious about the details.

What I really like about this concept is it’s inclusive nature.

You could auction off the bottles, which would certainly generate a lot of money, at the expense of limiting the audience that would have the opportunity to ever try the whisky.

Instead, the envisioned arrangement will both rake in proceeds for charity, while allowing those who’d like to give, but happen to have smaller wallets, to sample from these one of a kind bottles.

Really, really good going.

Sam, we hatched the idea back in April when I visited the distillery. We were, of course, drinking Macallan whisky at the time for inspiration.

A very nice gesture, and one not totally unexpected from a distillery of Macallan’s stature. Makes me wish I could make San Francisco! Thanks, guys!
